Setting Your Layout
How do I set my weblog's layout?
Answer
At Weblogs > Design > Layout, you can select a Classic or Mixed Media Layout for your weblog. Tip: To select and immediately apply a layout, double-click it. Your layout can have one, two, or three columns:
1 Column Layout
A single column design puts your posts front and center. The clean, uncluttered layout will allow readers to focus on the text or photos that you’ve posted, without any other elements to distract from your ideas. Your links and other information appear below the main weblog.
2 Column Layouts
A two column design is a simple but flexible choice that tucks your links and TypeLists neatly to the side. Your posts have plenty of space, but there’s room for a good amount of additional information.
The two column left layout places the sidebar on the left and the main post column on the right.
The two column right layout places the sidebar on the right and the main post column on the left.
3 Column Layouts
A three column layout is your best choice if you have a lot of supplementary information that you’d like to present along with your main weblog posts. This gives the page more of a formal structure and offers the most space for photos, links, widgets and TypeLists.
With the three column layout, each sidebar is on either side of the main post column in the center.
With the three column right layout, both sidebars are to the right of the main post column. This may be a good choice if you have a series of ads or banners you'd like to place in the far right column.
Fluid and Fixed Width Layouts
The content area in a "fluid" layout changes size when the browser window is resized. The area where your weblog posts are displayed expands or contracts to work with the size of the browser window.
Otherwise the content area is a fixed width (such as 400 pixels), which means that the width of the content stays the same no matter what size the browser window is.
If you are using a Custom Theme you can change the width of the content area on the Theme page.
Additional information is available in the Changing Your Design From Fixed to Fluid article.
Mixed Media Layouts
Mixed Media Layouts are perfect for displaying a mix of text, photos, video, audio and other types of media. They are ideal when posting remotely using a mobile device such as a mobile phone with camera.
In this example, a Mixed Media Layout is being used for a mobile phone photo weblog.
Artistic
The Artistic layout is good for spotlighting your most recent photo and features space on the left for your posts. This layout also displays the five most recent photos in your weblog. Your links and other information appear under your most recent photos.
Calendar
The Calendar layout is good for displaying a calendar with your recent photos. Your photos will appear on the right side and your posts will appear on the left. Your links and other information appear under the calendar.
3 Columns
The three-column layout is similar to the classic three-column layout but this layout features your most recent photos in the layout's right hand column. This layout features plenty of space for your posts in the center column and room for your links and other information in the left hand column.
4 Columns
The four-column layout is a combination of the three-column layout as it features your most recent photos in the left hand sidebar. It also features two sidebars to the right that allow plenty of space for you links and other information.
Timeline
The Timeline layout is great way to feature your most recent photos. It is similar to the Calendar layout but it does not use a calendar format to display your most recent photos. You also have room for your links and other information under the most recent photos.
When Using Mixed Media Layouts Keep in Mind:
Photos posted to Your Photo Album will not appear in a Mixed Media Layout, although you can post photos separately to a Mixed Media Layout.
You cannot use the Side Calendar or the TypePad Recently Updated List in a Mixed Media Layout.
You can choose which of your TypeLists to display in the Layout.
Mixed Media Layouts do not use TypePad's drag and drop content layout editor.
To upload mixed media images, use the Insert Image button on the New Post page or send them via mobile posting.

Cellulean Review - Is Cellulean An Effective Cellulite Treatment
What is cellulite?
The disorder refers to a condition that occurs mostly in women where the skin of the legs, buttocks and abdomen takes on a dimple like appearance after puberty. But perhaps it is wrong to label this condition as a disorder. The fact is that many doctors believe it is just a natural and normal condition in many women and that there are no proven treatments or way of rectifying it.
Notwithstanding the advice of doctors and other professionals, many women with cellulite are willing to do just about anything to get rid of it. That is because cellulite is considered extremely unattractive by both men and women. And nicknames like "cottage cheese skin" and "orange peel syndrome" certainly don't help others accept it.
In the next few paragraphs we are going to take a look at a popular cellulite treatment to see whether or not it can get rid of that unsightly skin.
When women notice that they are developing cellulite, they tend to have extreme reactions to it. Most of them run immediately to their plastic surgeons' and ask for liposuction. But liposuction has proven completely ineffective in getting rid of cellulite. The fact is that this procedure only reduces fat and fat deposits in certain areas of the body it does not smooth out the skin.
As we mentioned earlier, doctors are baffled when it comes to cellulite, which is why many women have turned to non-prescription, over-the-counter topical solutions. One of the best products on the market is called Cellulean.
Cellulean is a new product that is contains a common asthma drug called Aminophylline. It has been proven in a number of clinical trials to reduce fat on the thighs, buttocks, hips and stomach.
No, this product is not magic. It works by simply carrying natural and pharmaceutical ingredients through the skin and into the fat cells where they work to help these cells release fat particles. Instead of simply removing fat, as liposuction does, this product actually reduces their size just enough so that bumpy and uneven cellulite skin becomes much smoother and firmer. And because it is a cream, it will not cause scaring or lumpiness like liposuction procedures often will. Cellulean customers report that they have seen dramatic results in as early as two weeks. These results often consist of much slimmer looking thighs, buttocks and stomach areas as well as an appreciable diminution of the appearance of cellulite.
The Side Effects
While there are no know cellulean side effects, it should not be used by pregnant women. There is, of course, no evidence that it is harmful during pregnancy, however, the product has not been tested on pregnant women and therefore should not be used by them. If, however, you are not pregnant, you can use this product as often as you like. In clinical trials, both men and women have used cellulean and it has been proven completely safe.

Copy Wii Games
The Nintendo Wii is an incredibly popular system that offers a unique method of gameplay. It's no wonder so many people want to make copies of their own Wii games as backups to keep them from being damaged.
Right off the bat we want to make one thing clear - we are NOT encouraging you to copy games that you do not own. The purpose is to help you make backups of your existing games. Making backups of your own discs is completely legal.
Success Stories:Click here
While these games come on a disc that looks a lot like your burnable CDs, they can't just be copied the same way you'd rip a music CD. It's a little more complicated than that. Here's a guide to tell you the basics of copying Wii games, as well as the circumstances when you should and shouldn't do it.
Your usual burning software can't copy your Wii games the same way you'd burn a CD. Roxio, Nero, and other popular burning programs just can't copy these disks. That's because there's encoded copy protection on the disk that keeps your computer from being able to make sense of it.
Of course, like most copy protection, it didn't take long for someone to come up with a workaround. There are programs available that can read through the copy protection that comes on a Wii disc.
Once you've installed this kind of software, making a copy of the game is relatively easy - your computer is suddenly able to understand the data that was unreadable before. This is true for games on just about any system, including the PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii.
Even some PC games use encryption that can be broken by these programs. Should you own more than one game system, this software can help you produce backup copies for all of them, not just your Wii.
I found HomebreWare by accident and gave it a shot. I have to say I was impressed with the results.

When Organizing, Trust Your Instincts
I was working with a client recently to organize her home papers. We were purging papers that were no longer needed, and sorting the keepers into categories so that we could put them into files for future retrieval. So far, so good. My client confided that she considers herself organized at work, and actually likes a fairly clutter-free environment. She shared that at home, however, she has a really hard time dealing with paper. This is not uncommon. Some clients can maintain organizing systems at work, and not at home, while others can keep it together at home, but things fall apart at work. There are many reasons for this organizing disparity, and I assumed that as I worked with this client, the reasons would surface.
And surface they did. As soon as we started to set up the filing system, I noticed that my client lacked confidence in her decisions. When I would ask her what to name a certain file, she would get very nervous, mention a possible name, then second-guess herself almost immediately. She became visibly distressed, and started to lose steam. We took a break, and started discussing what she was feeling. She was feeling overwhelmed with choices, and was scared that she would make the wrong choice (her words) and not be able to find papers when she needed them later on. This, my friends, is what happens when someone does not trust his or her instincts when organizing.
It is not a surprise that my client became overwhelmed as soon as we got to the implementation phase. This is when you set up the organizing system in a way that makes sense to you, and can be integrated into your life. For many people, this is the toughest part, as it requires the person to make decisions and own them. If a person lacks confidence in his or her ability to set up a system or to maintain it, that lack of confidence usually manifests itself through indecision. For my client, this reared its ugly head more at home than at work. At work, often the systems are already in place and an employee merely has to follow them. For some, this makes it harder as the system may be far from what he or she would have created. However, for others, following a ready-made system is easier as it takes the decision-making part out of the equation.
So what to do? Use your instincts. Go with your gut.
If you were unfortunate enough to have to sit for the SAT exam in high school, you may remember the common tip that people would give: do not change your first answer, as it is usually the right one. You can say the same thing when it comes to organizing systems. I often will say to a client when they are having a hard time choosing a name for a file, "Quick, what file name would you think to look for this paper under?" I am trying to make my clients use free association, and not over-think the naming process. File names are only important when it comes to retrieval, not storage. Most people get caught up in what to name a file because they are focusing on the front-end - the storage process. But filing is most important on the back-end, during the retrieval process, when you need to access something quickly after time has gone by and your memory is not as fresh.
I am amazed how often clients will fight their natural organizing habits and tendencies. For example, a client will explain that he is having a hard time with mail being everywhere in his home. He will advise that he has a mail slot system but is not using it. I ask why. He tells me it is hanging by the front door, but he uses the back door. I then suggest moving the mail slot to hang near the back door. My client will say, "Oh that makes sense, why didn't I ever think of that?" Sometimes the easiest solution is staring you right in the face, but you don't trust yourself to grab it. Organizing systems should be intuitive, not difficult.
Back to my recent client. She realized that she wanted to set up her filing system by using each family member's name and then using sub-categories within each person's file area. For example, let's say her son's name is Tom. She wanted to have a main category called Tom, and then file folders within that category for Tom-Auto, Tom-Education, Tom-Medical, Tom-Work, etc. The reason for this, she explained, is that she tends to think of each person as a universe unto him- or herself. Once she is within that universe, then she wants to break it down by subject matter category. Others set up their filing systems based on main subject matter categories of Auto, Education, Medical, Work, etc. and then use each family member's name as the sub-categories and file folders within.
Which is right? Well, both, actually. It depends on the way your brain thinks about and processes paper. For my client, this system worked. As soon as we set up her filing system in this manner, I could see her confidence come back and her spirits rise. This felt "right" to her. She just lacked the confidence to try it before.

Letting Go of Clutter in the New Year
A New Year, A New Opportunity to Organize in the New Year New Year's Resolutions- who needs them? Why not decide to do something instead of make up goals you'll end up never keeping. Channel your thoughts and energy by actually blocking off time on your calendar to get those goals accomplished. If you'd like to get organized this New Year- start by scheduling in the time to get it done. Read further to get a jump start on organizing
Set realistic attainable organizing goals- how long was the clutter allowed to pile up? For some, it was years. You can't organize year's worth of clutter in one day. So, work on reducing the clutter space by space or room by room. Remember finish one space completely before jumping onto the next. You'll quickly get overwhelmed if you don't.
Although you might be purging back logged paper piles or clutter, be conscious of your daily habits. In order to maintain a clear space, there has to be daily toss time and daily "put things away" time. This doesn't have to take hours- 15 minutes max. Purging and daily maintenance are equally important. One without the other doesn't exist when you're first starting to organize.
Overwhelm- it happens to everyone. Set a kitchen timer or play a CD. Let that be your gauge of how long you'll work on your clutter before giving up. Promise yourself you'll make it through the complete CD or you'll work till the timer buzzes. When I'm faced with a lot of clutter at a client's home, I sometimes have to remind myself to put my blinders on, just like a horse. When horses need to focus on looking forward their blinders keep them concentrated and on task. So strap on those blinders and go at it- don't look back or around at all the clutter.
Don't know where to start? Grab 2 garbage bags- walk around the cluttered room filling one with trash, one with donations. Be sure to take out the garbage and donations when finished. Leaving it lying around will make matters worse.
Want to keep everything? Decide first, what you want the space to look like when you're done- would getting rid of half the stuff be enough to get it where you'd be pleased ? Would 20% clear enough clutter to help you better utilize the space? Be strict now and decide to clear that much stuff in order to attain your desired outcome. Without setting a precedence in the beginning you'll never get rid of the stuff while looking at it. The excuses will always come to want to keep something.
Live with Mr. or Mrs. Messy and you're neat? I know this is hard. Sit down and have a heart to heart talk. Don't accuse the person- instead, explain why and how you like things organized. List the ways being organized makes life easy for you. Meet half way. Don't expect the person to be perfect and do it every way your way. Ask nicely and maybe your loved one will understand and respect why organizing is so important to you. Then he or she might be motivated to make some changes.
